However, this product contains: "made from a carefully selected blend of solvents" and solvents increase engine friction and wear, not decrease wear. Amsoil ad says its a solvent...

I use Amsoil for motor oil sometimes in my car - so, I'm not against their oils. I just think their/any solvent engine flush is not good for your engine. Please note why...here.

Wouldn't an engine cleaner that cleans safely without solvents, and reduces friction and wear also, be better, safer for the job of cleaning out impurities in your engine?
Ordinarily, a person goes for the most good in a product that cleans their motor, even if there are negatives - like using solvents to clean with.
However, there are better and safer ways to clean and protect - and, also end problems a dirty motor may have.

What you should know...
Solvents do clean but they also
- Wipe-clean the much needed and critical oil-film separating pistons, bearings, cam shafts, valve lifters, and gears - from sudden destruction.
Lacking oil even for a moment causes a sudden increase in friction and abrasion - and that cannot be good for your motor, can it? That would mean your gaining one benefit and introducing a negative, right?
For the "good" the this brand is famous for
- I do not understand why they now promote solvents to clean your engine - when, for 20 years they sold us on the idea that their oil CLEANED better than anybody's oil and lasted longer.
Solvents in their product are more harmful than good - don't you agree?
I just put Amsoil in my transmission - so I'm not against their oils, just this flush product. As a mechanic...
