Had a friend who owned a nice black 46 convert like the one in the picture. The Fastback below, and its nice shape from 49 on was a nice flowing design. Had one just like it. The stick shift had a vacuum assist, if I remember right.

When Ford came up with this red, turquoise, and other color schemes for 1955 on, I just though the Fords looked and rode better. What do you think? Remember the Ford hardtop that folder into the trunk? And all that chrome going across the top on some Hardtop models? My sister Helen had a pink color on her 56 hardtop.

Worked at Midway Ford dealership on Vermont in Los Angeles. One day My buddy Ish Gonzales, who work with me on the line says, this car builder Shelby gave the boss a souped-up Mustang. We road tested it. It burned rubber from the back lot exit for two blocks. Afterwards, we concluded: that kind of car will never catch on.

Took this pic of Jay Leno's own car while on a tour of his garage. He claims he was so broke way back then he sleep in it. Jay likes to hang out with car buffs - as you may know. Hudson was a winning stock car racer in the circuits and had a streamlined uni-body construction. This model sported twin cars. Had a clutch you put some special fluid in it so it would work.

I guess its good for old memories - and to get new ideas, and to talk about what you did, how he did this or that, and the problems you solved to get your classic together. What's your next project?
